Borussia Dortmund secured their second consecutive Bundesliga victory over TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.
The match saw the visitors take control early on and were rewarded for their efforts when Marco Reus scored the opening goal in the 18th minute. Reus's strike was a perfect example of his clinical finishing as he latched onto a through ball from Jadon Sancho and fired home with aplomb.
TSG Hoffenheim looked to be in dire straits after this initial setback but they fought back valiantly and had several chances to level the scoreline. However, it was Borussia Dortmund who continued to dominate proceedings and they doubled their lead just before half-time when Emre Can found space on the right wing and delivered a cross that was met by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's header. The striker was left unmarked and was able to convert from close range to give Borussia Dortmund a comfortable lead at the break.
The second half saw TSG Hoffenheim try to mount a comeback but it was too little, too late as Borussia Dortmund held firm and ran out comfortable winners. Aubameyang finished off the scoring in the 75th minute with a well-taken finish after receiving a pass from Christian Pulisic.
Overall, it was another impressive performance from Borussia Dortmund as they showed great composure and determination throughout the match. They will now look to maintain their winning form as they face Werder Bremen next weekend.
